Do you think NEER is complicated, expensive and unpredictable?

Bob has been providing NEER to companies for years and can teach it to your Senior Management team.

Bob will, with your NEER statement, create a customized presentation to help you understand:

  • Best Possible Rebate and Worst Possible surcharge
  • How Duration drives claim cost
  • NEER’s hidden secrets
  • Why Return to Work is a much less expensive option to having a worker stay home

o   The money you save is the money you don’t spend

  • Simple solutions to the challenges of managing WSIB claims

Learning Objectives

  • The MATH of NEER – made easy
  • How to avoid lost time days and how that saves you money
  • Identifying opportunities to reduce costs dramatically
  • Preparing for Rate Modernization (January 1, 2020)
  • You will be able to predict your next NEER rebate/surcharge outcome

This session is 3 hours in length. A 1 hour lunch ‘n’ session is also available

Mentoring and Monitoring

By the time your NEER statement arrives the information is at least 2 months old!

The leading indicator of WSIB costs is your monthly accident cost statement. It identifies:

  • Current claims – healthcare and loss of earnings costs

o   THE 6 DAY RULE

o   How long should a workplace injury require long term health care benefits

  • Old claims – why would they come back to life?

Under the Mentoring & Monitoring program I can identify costly claims before they hit your NEER statement and provide advice as to how stop these claims from increasing in cost.

Every quarter I will review your NEER statement, using the information in your accident cost statements, to project your September NEER rebate/surcharge outcome.

This program also allows your company to call me at anytime to talk about any WSIB questions you may have.

This information is very important as we move closer to January 1, 2020 and the launch of Rate Modernization

This service is available on a flat fee basis, reconciled quarterly

Rebate/Surcharge Projections

Believe it or not rebates and surcharges are forecastable and can be updated with each quarterly NEER statement.

This is vital information for budgeting, measuring your internal programs and your preparation for Rate Modernization (January 1, 2020).

I can, using your NEER statements, project your coming NEER rebate or surcharge and update that projection every quarter. (NOTE: NEER is volatile. Based upon claim cost activity there can dramatic changes on a per quarter basis).

This is especially true for current claims (2018) and what they will look like in 2019.

Claims Management Services

The first two days of WSIB claim are when companies get things right – or get things wrong!

If you do not have your worker involved in some form of light duties by the end of day 2 of their claim call me!

NEER: Beware the 6 day rule – this is the day your costs skyrocket!

There are very simple things your company can do to avoid any lost time days with any claim – short of a critical injury.

–          Educate your staff about their responsibility to participate

–          Know how to communicate with their Doctor

–          Teach your supervisors why it’s their responsibility to manage these workers

ARE YOU PREPARED FOR YOUR NEXT ACCIDENT?

CAD-7 Help

In-House Seminars

Mentoring and Monitoring

Your CAD-7 statement is essentially written by the WSIB on December 31 every year but not issued until the following September.

Also every CAD-7 year counts twice. CAD-7 is very predictable ad I can forecast your coming 2018 CAD-7 rebate/surcharge outcome.

The leading indicator of WSIB costs is your monthly accident cost statement. It identifies:

  • Current claims – healthcare and loss of earnings costs

o   THE 8 DAY RULE

o   How long should a workplace injury require long term health care benefits

  • Old claims – why would they come back to life?

Rebate/Surcharge Protection

Believe it or not CAD-7 rebates and surcharges are forecastable and can be updated with each quarter.

This is vital information for budgeting, measuring your internal programs and your preparation for Rate Modernization (January 1, 2020).

I can, using your prior CAD-7 statements and your monthly accident cost statements, project your coming CAD-7 rebate or surcharge and update that projection every quarter. (NOTE: CAD-7 charges your company for both accident cost dollars and the amount of claims charges to your company and they charge these factors to your CAD-7 very differently).

This is information is particularly important for companies that have to submit their CAD-7 as part of their tender packages

Rate Reform is Coming in 2020.
Will your business be ready?

Rate Moderization

How Does it Work?

Rate Modernization is a prospective, premium-only model. Unlike the rebate-surcharge models of NEER and CAD-7.

Your company will pay premiums and those premiums will rely on your company’s performance.

How will it affect my company?

Companies will no longer have to accrue for a surcharge or be shocked by a surcharge they didn’t expect.

Your premium rates will largely depend on your individual performance. Accident costs could be more substantial and could affect companies from 6 to 11 years.

“Bob spoke to my chapter of The Fleet Safety Council to explain both the NEER program and what the Trucking Industry can expect with the changes coming with Rate Reform. Bob makes WSIB/NEER understandable for the average guy. We really appreciated his presentation.”

Scott GordanierFleet Safety Council

Bob has been very helpful to me and our company. He monitors our WSIB account and updates our NEER projection on a regular basis. I often contact Bob with NEER or other WSIB questions and he always responds promptly and encourages me to continue to reach out.

Mellissa McAllisterTrans-Frt. McNamara

Bob has always been prompt, professional, knowledgeable and very helpful whenever I have reached out to him.  He conducted an in-house NEER seminar for our Hospital to our department managers and Human Resources that helped them understand the importance of working towards zero accidents and zero lost time days and the potential impact to the organization.

Judy SwainOccupational Health Practitioner

Bob has helped to increase my knowledge significantly with regards to disability management in the workplace. I have utilized many of his services – NEER Training, Account Monitoring, Claims Management support, and executive management meetings focused on WSIB. It can be a complicated process and he has been able to point me in the right direction, which makes my job easier and saves the business time and money.
